New Old Stock, New In Box Vintage Audiotex Fader for Car Audio / Automotive Stereo: 60s 70s Auto Radio Controller Sealed in its Original Package, Made in Japan
That, and the photos, pretty much say it all. As you'll see in the pictures, the package is pretty worn and weathered. The edges are bent and fraying, the cardboard has creases, and the plastic bubble is pushed in and peeling away from the cardboard.
There is also some sort of residue or debris inside the bubble, which doesn't seem to have come from the unit or wires or anything, from what I can see - my best guess is that it's from the packaging, and possibly the remains of glue that has deteriorated. This is visible along the bottom edge of the clear plastic in several of the photos.
However, from what I can tell from careful inspection and study of this item, the unit itself - plus its wiring and peripherals - seems to be fully intact and unscathed.
It's impossible to confirm this without opening the package and connecting the unit to a system. And given the nature of this item - vintage, with its packaging and unopened state making up a significant part of its value and desirability - you'll understand why I cannot accept returns on it. That's the official disclaimer. Of course, buying any new old stock, new-in-box electronic item this old always means accepting these risks. And candidly, they made things so sturdy and durable back then that a visual confirmation of everything being intact usually means the unit is in fine, functional shape, in my experience. But again, I speak from my experience only.
