This is a brand new aftermarket part in good working condition.

This part has a 6-prongs plug with a female wire. (
pic #2 & #3
)

For some years of the 500R models(the 2nd Gen), a minor modification may be required in order to fit in the mounting properly, we do not know how to fix it since we don't have the actual bike, but some buyers did get it to work, so please check the dimension that measured in the pictures to determine if this part will fit your bike.

in order to get this item to work properly, you may need to solder an about
100 OHM (1/4 W, 5% tolerance) Resistor
(resistor not included)
in-line with the Grey wire that going to the CDI (
see pic #4 /
#5 and the last two pics provided by our customer
), otherwise, it may not start the engine/no spark, this worked for many of our customers, seek for a professional or a mechanic if you need help. **In some cases, you may just swap the key-entry over to the harness if you know how to do it.
** If the options described above aren't work for you, then we suggest that you purchase the OEM part.

On the last two pictures that was provided by one of our customers that he soldered a 100 ohm resistor in-line (anywhere) with the grey wire.

We suggest that you install the resistor by a professional or a mechanic, return will NOT be accepted if the item is damaged by installing the resistor.
